Wheeler friends are always up to something! Be it a helping event for the community, regularly filling the Blessing Box with foods and some hygiene supplies, Wheeler acts as a community resource and encourager. Enriching opportunities are frequent. Wheeler Kids is always hopping with learning and fun for children up through grade 5. #wheelerbvilleyouth is currently a combined group with Blountville UMC. You can share a gift of music in the Wheeler Chancel Choir or on an instrument. The active retired enjoy a wide spectrum of events, from Joy! Goes to Lunch to attending local plays and concerts. Wheeler focuses first on creative, inspired blended worship with our pastor, The Rev. Dr. Tony Collins. We give back to God while growing in our faith, being a light in our community and beyond, and nurturing the faith community of all ages.
If you are exploring the idea of attending a church, or you are looking for a new church home, come and see!
Right now, it is tough to be prepared for everything life throws at us financially.
The Blessing Box serves alot of neighbors, and is emptied most days.
You can help:
Bring food items and place them in the box ( a few things)
Bring backstock food items to the church (a lot of things)
Use the giving link to donate, enabling bulk food purchases
Take what you need from the food box
Bring winter gear to the bin under the box
Once the immediate surprise of a natural disaster passes, it may be difficult to find the most effective route to continue to help. Wheeler UMC partners with Harmony Baptist Church to help provide particular needs for communities highly affected by the flooding of the Wautagua and Doe Rivers and their tributaries in Carter County, TN. Some local businesses, such as Cox Tractor in Kingsport, have also been significant supporters of this ministry. If you would like to support this ongoing effort to rebuild homes and lives, you can use the donation link below. 100% of donations go to flood recovery efforts.
